It is time for Congress and the United States of America to stand up and make a change that allows any parent to have equal amount of time off with their newborn. Paid parental leave has shown to reduce infant mortality up to 10%, it increases the likelihood of infants getting the vaccinations they need, an increase in multiple health benefits for the babies. These are a few beneficial realities that come from parents spending those first crucial weeks with their newborn. Mr. President, we urge you to sign this petition request and that you make a law that permits paid parental leave to better the lives of not only the children, but for the parents who have worked so hard to be able to provide for this new human being.
