We respectfully request that President Obama immediately petition Congress to implement an immediate change to the banking industry that places a maximum charged interest rate on all Home Mortgages of 1% regardless of income. Considering that the banks leverage the funds we, the people, deposit in them to provide/obtain loans of their own and give us a paltry interest rate in return, it doesn't seem right. Additionally, if we the people are going to bail them out for their bad behavior, while we get removed forcibly from our homes after exhausting our savings, does that seem fair? 1% rates, regardless of the cost of the home should be immediately signed into law with a retroactive clause, enabling all prior mortgages to enjoy the new rate. The banks make enough money. Its time for us.
