We The People petition the Obama administration to enact a law requiring ALL businesses to provide calamity days to employed parents of young children. These days shall be separate from the standard PTO which is earned by the employee.
Severe weather is an uncontrollable event and places parents in a bind and forces them to use their vacation days for an event that is not a vacation. Parents today work hard to earn vacation days and they should be used to spend quality time with family. This law would ease the stress of working parents throughout our country and has absolutely zero downside.
