enact a law to repeal the Federal Employees Retirement System for members of the House of Representatives and the Senate

Created by R.F. on December 13, 2012

Remove all current and former members of the House of Representatives and the Senate from the Federal Employee Retirement System. This Entitlement Program is a burden upon the US Economy. It also removes any incentive on the part of Congress to address issues with healthcare with which tax paying private citizens must contend.

This plan is not available to private citizens, who instead must rely on Medicare and Medicaid in later years. Members of Congress enjoy the Entitlement of the FERS, and are removed from these programs which they actively seek to dismantle. Were congress required to participate in these programs there would be greater motivation to correct any deficiencies in these programs.

Also consider removal of other Government Staff from this Entitlement Program as well.
