Since the U.S. Department of Defense has declared that women are to be allowed to become members of Combat Units and so must meet the same requirements as their male counterparts to join said Combat Units, in the name of equality, there should be enacted a law requiring all females who reach the age of 18 years to register with Selective Service and so be eligible, under the same conditions as apply to boys who attain their 18th year, to be called up for non-volunteer military service, including possible assignment to front line combat units. This would create a true "Level Playing Field" and would be in line with the spirit of gender equality in the U.S. Military.
