While Daylight Savings Time may have served a purpose in the 19th and 20th centuries, in today's society it is an artifact that no longer has a meaningful impact.
It is costly for critical servers to schedule to cover the hours for the change to Daylight Savings time. It is costly for Information Technology groups to ensure that computers make the adjustment twice per year without issue.
In the past, we've presume that it saves energy - however as more of the society has moved away from just working during daylight hours, the amount of energy that it saves is next to nothing. We need to retire Daylight Savings time.
