enact a law that stops the pay of all executive and legislative officials when the government is shutdown.

Created by Z.C. on October 18, 2013

In the most recent display of the inability of Congress and the executive branch to work together for the common good of the United States, the government was temporarily shutdown. During this time, thousands of people were out of work with no income. Also during this time, the people responsible for the shutdown, members of Congress and the President, all were still being paid. This is not fair and should be stopped. If this law is created, then those in Congress and the White House will be less likely to lead the country to a shutdown and will instead work hard to come to a resolution.
