The members of Congress and Senate are very highly paid. They never feel the pain of having pay withheld or losing of their jobs. They need to feel the monetary pain since they fail to realize that threatening a government showdown affects U.S. citizens financially and it should not be used so frequently and haphazardly. All fines collected should go our national deficit or to the federal programs most severely affected by the government shutdown.
