Employers can not mandate overtime. or Employers shall be required by law to notify an employee of mandated overtime added to the employee’s normal shift 24 hours prior to when the overtime is to be worked. If the mandated overtime is to be worked on days the employee does not normally work (ie. Weekends, holidays), the employer will be required by law to notify the employee 48 hours in advance of said mandated overtime. Overtime shall be considered any hours worked after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week. This will be the employer’s choice, but it must be stated in the company rules and cannot change without at least 30 days notice to employees. Employers shall be required by law to pay employees required to work mandated overtime two times their normal rate of pay.
