Enact laws to protect citizens from police violence and police brutality

Created by M.W. on August 12, 2014

As it stands police face no consequences when they kill unarmed persons, particularly persons of colour. In fact this is being referred to as 'legal murder'. There is absolutely no excuse for the outright murder of black teenagers who are committing no crimes at all, or crimes so petty that death is an unfitting punishment.

This needs to change, police MUST face the consequences of shooting and killing unarmed people and people who are surrendering, especially as there is a targeted group that is being killed. They need to be charged with hate crimes and murder in the first, and they need to do time. Citizens need protection from the police and the government must enforce this. The police have failed at their job.
