Enact legislation changing each Congresspersons pay to equal their respective state's median income level.

Created by J.V. on December 21, 2011

Current policy allows Congress to vote on their own pay, raises and benefits. We propose that the current administration enacts legislation which will lock each Congressperson's pay to equal their represented state's median income level with no added provisions nor loop holes. This new legislation will help ground each representative to the economic issues faced by their constituents and significantly reduce the overall cost of the legislative body. Representatives will also realize the discrepancies between sates which should aid in boosting states or regions in need of economic growth. Overall, this legislation should directly connect the representatives to the average person fostering improved legislation for all Americans.
