Healthcare lobbyist ensure the federal government is paying more for medical devices/pharmaceutical drugs and procedures. Items that are cheaper at Walmart. A trip to the ER costs as much as a new car but consumers have no idea of the costs of any of the procedures until you get home. Healthcare is the only industry where technology advances drive bills up instead of down. We need our government to step in and help protect the citizens from this rising cost before we all end up bankrupt including this great country.
