The only solution to the problem of texting while driving and the resulting injuries and deaths is to enact legislation that will require wireless providers to disable texting capabilities on devices on their network while that device is moving faster than the average walking speed. The vast majority of wireless devices in society today are GPS capable, making the minimal cost of implementing this a simply matter of programming devices and their accessibility under certain conditions. This legislation WILL save many lives and injuries due to pointless and negligent inattentiveness on the road.
