Enact Legislation requiring any person purchasing a firearm to purchase a trigger locking device for that weapon.

Created by W. . on December 18, 2012

Enact separate legislation or amend and attach a provision to any pending gun control bills whereby:

1. Any firearm purchased, the buyer must automatically purchase a trigger locking mechanism for that weapon.

2. A person purchasing ammunition must provide proof of purchase of a trigger locking mechanism, or the trigger locking mechanism itself, before they are permitted to purchase the ammunition. A separate proof or lock must exist for every caliber of ammo purchased.

Thus any new gun owner will have a lock for every weapon they buy, and existing gun owners at some point will at least need to purchase a lock for every caliber gun they own. Locks are around $10.00.

We require seatbelts when you buy an car, we require safety caps on drugs we purchase. Why not locks for guns?
