The strength of lobby's and special interest in our political system is to such a point, that elected officials do not have the interests of the general populous in mind. We are out of sight (or rather pocket) out of mind.
As a result, we have only professional politicians who are ingrained in a culture of obstructionism and partisan combativeness.
We deserve better.
If our politicians aren't representing us, we deserve a way to let our government know in some way other than diminishing our livelihoods in a protest that hurts our pockets, reputation, and our time. A "no confidence" vote will allow those who for a multitude of reasons cannot protest physically to protest in the most important way: denying elected officials a seat in our congress.
