Congress should enact legislation which would ensure fair treatment of ALL veterans by the Veterans Administration. Financial limits for waivers of co-pays is unrealistically low and many low income vets are denied things like travel pay to reach VA hospitals which are often many hours away. They are denied access to their medications when waivers are denied due to outdated income scales or consderation for housing costs. Many vets travel long distances to acess VA care but are denied travel reimbusement when that service was not available locally. Service connection levels should not apply to veterans living in poverty and in poor health. These levels are based on a long arduous process which all to often provides no resolution and many vets give up rather than "fight the system".
