Enact legislation that will place a tax (percentage of purchase to be decided) on gun owners for every gun purchase.

"We the people" should not have to bear the costs of gun death and violence. Gun owners should, in some way, help to recoup the costs of guarding and protecting society from the harmful effects of guns. This tax would be a percentage (to be decided through legislation) of the cost of the weapon in question. Automatic, high capacity weapons, if not banned, should recieve a higher tax percentage. If we can tax cigarette purchases because of their harmful effect, we SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAX GUNS FOR THE SAME REASON!
