Constitutionally, every American has the right to own a gun; however, there are sensible restrictions that should be imposed on the 2nd Amendment.
The nation needs total gun registration. The sell of unregistered guns at gun shows must end. We should be able to track every gun back to its owner. The government should also track the sell of large ammunition clips and prohibit the sell of ammo that extends beyond hunting or target shooting needs, including sales made online.
Such basic restrictions would help prevent/solve many gun-related crimes that occur, not only within the United States borders, but those that extend into Mexico and other neighboring nations.
It is long pass the point for common sense gun legislation to be enacted. Americans shouldn't be made to live in fear.
