Enact Mandatory Voting for U.S. Citizens

Created by A.W. on March 19, 2015

Due to the low percentage of American citizens participating in our electoral process, the institution of mandatory voting is vitally needed to insure the conservation of our republic. Non-participants should face community service or fines, as voting is central to a high functioning democracy. It is our patriotic duty that the country's citizenship is represented by the active decisions of our populace and not the outsized influence of powerful and wealthy organizations that take advantage of voter apathy. Mandatory voting is a positive step in the right direction to restoring the promise of an America that reflects the wishes of those that enjoy the benefits of citizenship.
