Enact a National Election Holiday.

Created by C.S. on November 02, 2011

We declare certain days designated on which to honor and acknowledge the public service of our earliest presidents as federal holidays. Let us immediately enact Election Day as a federal holiday, in order to elect our next one.

In this way we celebrate a vibrant democracy, as well as the living legacy of our founding revolutionaries.

Election Day in the United States is the day set by law for the general elections of public officials. It occurs on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The earliest possible date is November 2 and the latest possible date is November 8. The next election will be held on November 8, 2011. [wikipedia]

A federal holiday will allow maximal participation by the citizens in our political system, as well as to encourage civic responsibility and pride.
