enact a national tax based on the number of engine cylinders in passenger cars and light trucks.

Created by T.C. on December 05, 2012

We need to provide motivation to consumers to buy cars with fuel efficient engines. Cars with smaller engines use less oil and gas. therefore the Federal government should add a surcharge to all new cars sold in the U.S.based - on the number of cylinders in their engines.

All electric cars - no surcharge
Cars with 4 cylinders or less - no surcharge
Cars with 6 cylinders - $25.00
Cars with 8 cylinders - $50.00
Cars w/ more than 8 cylinders - $100.00

This applies to all passenger vehicles sole in the U.S.
All commercial vehicles are exempt.

All tax revenues go to the National Highway Fund.
