It is my belief that government needs to examine new ways to solve our economic problems; besides relying exclusively on taxes and spending cuts.
The US government has the power to create Legal Tender and should do so as a way to directly stimulate the economy. By printing legal tender and directly spending it on infrastructure, hurricane reconstruction and providing cash payments to all tax paying citizens we could see dramatic gains in economic growth without raising debt or taxes.
To combat the possible factors of inflation, the federal reserve would use it's traditional tools such as increasing the reserve requirement on banks. To counterbalance, the increase in the money supply.
