Enact the Protection for Battered People Act, covering men, women and children.

Created by D.F. on January 04, 2013

As a society stepping more towards equality, legislation pertaining towards a single group is increasingly impractical. There are many cases of this, but two of the more easily addressed is the Violence Against Women Act and the CPS.

Hence, I propose the PBPA, to cover all genders. Through it, impartial shelter and legal guidance would be provided for any man, woman or child claiming abuse. Additionally, it would act as an educational tool, educating the public on how to identify, deal with and report suspected abuse, physical or emotional.

It should be noted that this isn't a tool for revenge. Frivolous claims will be denied (i.e. My parents forced me to eat my greens) and if a claim is found fradulent, fines and/or a prison term will be levied against the reporting party.
