We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Enact Ranked Choice Voting (Instant Runoff Voting) systems to ensure fair and open elections

Created by N.H. on July 05, 2016

The current system based on the Electoral College frequently forces people to vote against a candidate that they don't want instead of voting for candidates that they do want. Additionally candidates are more prone to extreme policies so that they can polarize the masses which makes it difficult to reach compromises that would benefit the country.

Under Ranked Choice Voting people would be able to place their votes with the candidate that they want, and specify others that would receive their vote in the event that their first choice didn't win. Instead of voting against someone, they would be voting only for the people that reflected their views.

This system would eliminate the illusion of choice that has eroded our democracy.
