enact regulations prohibiting firearm vendors from keeping rifles in stock at retail locations

Created by J.M. on December 19, 2012

While I disagree with a firearm ban, I believe that there is room for tighter control over the ability to purchase certain firearms--for example, hunting rifles and shotguns. Many major retailers, from sporting goods chains to "big-box" department stores, can have such weapons in ample supply on location.

My proposed action is to prohibit retailers from keeping such firearms in stock at retail locations. They may be sold in stores, but must be shipped to the location of purchase. Payment must be received prior to delivery of the weapon to the retail location.

Vendors would be allowed to keep non-working display models, or if the vendor has a test range on-site, a working model not to leave the range.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this petition. Good Luck.
