Russia, under Vladimir Putin, has recently been engaged in a campaign of criminalizing homosexuality. Here are some examples of recent actions:
* Allowed police to arrest tourists and foreign nationals suspected of being Homosexual, lesbian, or "pro-gay".
* Classified "homosexual propaganda" as pornography, making it illegal for anyone to publicly support GLBT rights.
* Will soon make it legal to seize children from parents suspected of homosexuality.
These are not the actions of a nation the US should have diplomatic relations with.
Signors of this petition demand that the Administration condemn these actions in the strongest terms, and enact severe diplomatic sanctions (including a potential Olympic boycott) against Russia over these appalling human rights violations.
