We the People know that above all else education is the key to prevention.
I propose that, through common core education, we can explore and include firearms safety and marksmanship training in public schools.
Like Sex Ed teaches how to safely become familiar with their own body and how to prevent Disease and Pregnancy, it's my belief that proper firearms knowledge can dispel the myths and irrational fears about guns and safety. Proper firearms training and knowledge is key to preventing intentional and accidental firearms incidents.
I petition the Administration to form a non-partisan committee, including firearm experts/instructors, and child psychologists, to design, measure, and implement school firearm education and training to prevent further gun tragedies for future generations.
