In the wake of the tragedy in Connecticut and the Mall shooting in Oregon, the knee jerk reaction is to ban all guns, even ones owned by law abiding citizens that are used for hunting and shooting sports. This is a very bad idea. All you have to do is look south to Mexico.
The drug gangs have weapons but the average law abiding citizens do not. There have been massacres almost monthly down there and police are executed in many towns.
Criminals only pick on the weak and if they think you might be able to defend yourself, they will pick an easier target. Please just have some common sense.
As they say, when guns are criminalized, only criminals will have guns.
