Single Payer Health Insurance - Medicare extended to all Americans regardless of age is the only real solution to this country's exploding health insurance costs.
Premiums would be charged to all users based on a sliding scale based on individual income. Medicare must become profitable before single-payer is enacted. Disbursements must be no greater than revenues. Single payer must pay based on a reasonable schedule of fees, thus costs are held down to a minimum and a profit may be achieved. Participation in the plan is optional, not mandatory. Doctor and hospital participation would be mandatory to maintain their license to practice.
