Bullying is an epidemic in this country. School's attempt to instill no tolerance policies, although a step in the right direction, have proved to be ineffective. Strict laws must be put in place to finally eradicate this emotionally crippling problem. I implore that the government establish a task force including, but limited to, parents of bullied children as well as other influential community leaders to establish clear, aggressive guidelines to deter the bully. This team must keep in mind that school children of all ages are not just bullied by their peers, but by teachers and administrators who continue or choose to ignore those children with neurological and other developmental disabilities.
