The right to own a firearm is guaranteed by the second amendment and this right should not be taken. This right however comes with a heavy responsibility to ensure safety and to protect the public from misuse. To that end:
Strict background checks on all firearm buyers/residents of the same home (even private sales)
No sale without six week waiting period and proof of safety course completion
Illegal to keep a firearm without security when not in use (gun safe or trigger lock)
Firearms for civilian market shall not have a capacity of more than 3 rounds
Firearms currently in civilian hands shall be required to meet the new laws
All firearms required to license annually and affirm firearm is under control
Heavy charges will be levied for illegal firearms and violations of the above
