Enact stricter gun control laws so the senseless violence ends

There needs to be stricter gun laws in this country. How many more people have to die before the antiquated second amendment is repealed? Here is the actual text of the second amendment, word for word "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Clearly, we no longer have or need militias in this country. When this amendment was drafted people still owned slaves, and minorities, as well as women, did not have the right to vote. There is no logical reason for this amendment to continue to exist. Instead of grieving for a few weeks and forgetting about the victims and their broken hearted loved ones, the time has come to take action and put a stop to gun violence in america.
