Enact stricter gun-control regulations to prevent mass shootings, similar to Australia's wildly successful 1996 action

Created by M.F. on December 03, 2015

The U.S. is currently experiencing almost one mass shooting PER DAY. After a mass shooting in 1996, Australia swiftly enacted stricter gun-control legislation, and it hasn't had a mass shooting SINCE.

"New gun laws prohibited private sales, required that all weapons be individually registered to their owners, and required that gun buyers present a “genuine reason” for needing each weapon at the time of the purchase. (Self-defense did not count.)" It also bought back more than 600,000 firearms.

Homicides by firearm plunged 59% in 11 years, suicides by gun dropped 65%, and there hasn't been a single mass shooting in Australia since. Please act NOW.
