Each year, thousands of divorced parents are placed into state sanctioned debt through child support payments. These payments often mean a substantial taking of wages and other income by the state with the understanding that these monies are to be used for the care and maintenance of the children involved. But there is no oversight for where these monies are spent and more often than not, the children, for whom this support was intended, derive no benefit because the parent receiving payments uses them for things other than the welfare of the children.
We seek accountability of parents receiving child support to account for the use of the support payments for the children. Without oversight and accountability, this is a nothing more than a debtor system.
