Enact tariffs on all imported oil to save our domestic oil producers. If we lose US producers the cost of gas will soar.

Foreign oil is being dumped on the U.S. at a cost that makes our domestic producers non-competitive. They are losing money at these low prices to ensure our domestic production is wiped out. Recently it was announced that 100,000 jobs were lost and that many producers will be bankrupt in a few years. Even the larger oil companies have begun cutting jobs. Once our domestic producers have been eliminated, the countries exporting the oil to U.S. will raise their price per barrel and gasoline will cost more than it ever has. Pay a little more for gas now to ensure our energy independence. Domestic oil production, like so many things that were once produced here, will be gone along with thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue. This will have a huge ripple effect over time.
