Power corrupts. Too much power, for too long, is a threat to our freedom.
There is a good reason why the President of the United States is limited to two terms in office. The longer a governing official holds office, the further out of touch with the American People that official becomes.
A stagnant pool quickly becomes toxic. Likewise, a stagnant Congress cannot function effectively. It is imperative in ensuring the welfare of the People of the United States that the members of its legislative body demonstrate the same temper as the citizens they are elected to serve.
In keeping with this end, We the People demand term limits be imposed on members of Congress in order to cultivate a fresher, more innovative, and dynamic legislative body.
