In effect: A dental care program sponsored and paid for by the government through tax dollars as proof of concept for future possible healthcare systems. A program such as this would show the weaknesses and strengths of more widely used paid-for-by-government health care program.
There would be no downsides to this. Everyone from top to bottom would benefit from this program, people can stick with their private/employee insurance if they so choose, and we would truly know the strengths of such a system.
