We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Enact two security measures to keep performers and customers safe at concert venues and nightclubs.

Created by C.N. on July 01, 2016

Two common security measures could have helped to prevent the murders of Christina Grimmie and the 49 lives lost at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

Guards at the entrance with metal detector wands and an armed security guard. Most venues already employ unarmed security guards who could have screened people before entering, and an off-duty police officer or other armed guard is a minimal expense to assure the safety of performers and patrons alike.

We urge lawmakers at the federal and/or state level to make these measures mandatory and propose calling it "Christina's Law", as she was the first life lost in Orlando that weekend.
