Enact a "War Tax" on everyone except military personnel and their families when the United States goes to war.

Created by A.C. on February 15, 2012

The United States has a huge deficit. This is due, in great part, to the unfunded wars we have engaged in over the past decade.

In addition, military personnel and their families have shouldered the majority of the burden of these wars by sacrificing their lives and health while the rest of our citizens have carried on virtually unaffected and sacrificed nothing.

Therefore there should be a "war tax" that everyone except military personnel and their families are expected to pay whenever the United States engages in overseas combat.

When our country goes to war every single citizen should be affected by the gravity of such a choice. Asking those who do not volunteer to serve physically, should at the very least be expected to help financially.
