Enact Year-Round National Participation in Daylight Saving Time.

Created by D.O. on December 08, 2012

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is current observed by most states almost two-thirds of each year, spanning from mid-March to early November. DST allows families to have extended outdoor evening hours for recreation, and saves incrementally on the use of electricity.

The current regimen of switching our clocks twice a year no longer provides a benefit in today's modern society, and only cuts back at what many people treasure - late daylight. Further, switching clocks is a burden to parents of young children (whose natural rhythms don't change as easily), and pet owners (ever try to explain to your dog or cat they need to wait an hour to get fed?).

Please remove the relic of time-changing and create a new standard: Permanent Daylight Savings Time.
