In the interests of civil public discourse and the early detection and treatment of mental illness, we petition the White House to ask Alex Jones, syndicated radio-show host, to seek a mental health evaluation and to accept appropriate treatment.
We support a greater emphasis on mental health research, evaluation and treatment in the national agenda. We support responsible ownership of guns, of a nature and kind appropriate for personal defense, by individuals whose ownership doesn't pose a threat to the safety and security of the public.
In a 1/07/12 interview on CNN, Alex Jones demonstrated a frightening lack of self-control and rational thought. Alex Jones' platform as a talk-show host reaches millions. We see no other constructive way for him to contribute to the public debate.
