We, the signers of this petition, ask President Obama to encourage all elected or high ranking appointed officials to voluntarily give 5 to 20 percent of their pay back to the treasury.
This move will not only help to improve the public's perception of the federal government, but show solidarity with all government employees.
We the American people need our politicians to show us that they really do understand what we are going through. They need to show us that they are ready to make sacrifices, just as we the people have to make sacrifices.
