Encourage Americans to join CSA (community-supported agriculture) partnerships to support local economies.

Created by S.B. on October 27, 2011

Joining a CSA benefits the farmers as well as the members who buy produce. CSAs allow community members to pay a fixed weekly or monthly fee to pick up or have a crate of fresh produce delivered to them, which can be filled with organic, hormone-free eggs and meat as well as freshly picked fruits and vegetables.

What's more, the fresh deliveries help families to learn about the food they eat and where it comes from; this new understanding of food can help to fight obesity in America.

Rewarding CSAs will benefit America's independent farmers, its communities, and the nation at large.

President Obama, please provide a financial incentive for members of these organizations to encourage more participation and to allow those in low-income households to participate.
