This petition is in regards to the graphic imagery within the film and television industry which pertain towards suicide.
While it is, like everything else within the entertainment industry, up to the consumer to make the appropriate decisions before deciding to view such content, it is important to have appropriate levels of warnings in order to educate and prevent unwanted viewing.
This imagery is particularly dangerous to the community of people who are under treatment and diagnosis for the multitude of mental disorders which are just starting to become known and accepted throughout the United States as serious medical conditions. It is time for such organizations as the MPAA in coordination with governmental regulatory commissions to create a label that ensures safety and respect.
