"We the People" petition website has raised awareness on a variety of topics to the White House. Now it is time to see this tool at the state and local government level. The White House could share a lot of lessons learned on how to establish and run this site to help state governments in establishing their own version of "We the People of (STATE)".
Once established, state petition websites would require minor adjustments compared to the White House version to ensure local accuracy. Using state tax registration or voter registration numbers to ensure citizens are registered under their correct state site. Also, a means of tracking legislation and how our elected state representatives voted would be an eye opener for many citizens and a great way to educate / inspire the public to vote.
