The Applebee's restaurant corporation wrongly fired server Chelsea Welch of St. Louis, Missouri after she posted an image of an unacceptable comment left on a receipt by a customer at the restaurant. While, yes, she should not have posted the image of the receipt, it did not warrant her employment being terminated by Applebee's. A reprimand would have been sufficient enough. Applebee's has no right to claim that she violated company policy by posting an image of the receipt online, when Applebee's itself has posted photos of customer receipts on Facebook and the Internet with customer information in full view in photos. We petition President Obama to ask Applebee's to do the right thing and set things right by re-instating Ms. Welch, apologizing to her, and compensate her for lost wages.
