encourage banks to raise rates on savings. Banks get 6%, we get .01%. We cannot live on Social Security alone.

Created by M.H. on December 05, 2012

Fair interest from banks on savings. They get 6 - 8% on loans, we get .01% on savings. We were encouraged to save to supplement Social Security, but without return on savings we are forced to live on Social Security alone. For remotely decent returns we are forced into risky investments. Seniors cannot afford anything risky. Give us a return on our savings so we can afford rent AND food!
