I think a new code of conduct or something similar is in order. In any normal job, a person who does nothing but badmouth the services which the company provides while actively sabotaging its ability to function in order to make some sort of point on a matter already decided would be immediately fired. Most of them wouldn't have been hired in the first place if their politicking were a job interview.
If the system is not working correctly, than it is the job of those we send to Washington to fix it, not to complain about it, whine about their coworkers, and pretend that anyone that doesn't think like them is the personification of evil.
