We are Americans. Travel around the world to any developed nation (i.e. Germany, Japan, S. Korea) and their countries and people wholly support their domestic auto industry. Unfortunately, the people of the US do not, and it's a travesty that 70% of Congress drives vehicles that are from non-American companies. Why? This is an absolute shame. In Germany, Japan, S. Korea...you won't see any government officials (very, very few most likely) driving anything other than their domestic vehicles. Personally, I take offense to a US Congressman, Senator, or other Senior Government Official driving to work in a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, etc. Where is our pride? The Obama Administration stood by the Big 3 during troubled times...let's put pressure on Congress to do more to represent our companies.
