Encourage Congress to create a "Made-in-America Act"

Created by C.K. on October 04, 2011

Everybody has different ideas about stimulating the economy. Some people want to eliminate regulations and reduce taxes for investors and businesses. Others want to reduce taxes on lower income households, which would increase consumer demand. But many products purchased in the U.S. are sold by foreign companies, so the profits do not stay in America.

The Made-in-America Act would allow Americans to deduct from their taxable income the cost of products they purchased that were manufactured, assembled, and packaged entirely in the United States by U.S. citizens employed full-time and provided specified benefits, like health care. Businesses would be responsible for certifying that a product or service they provide meet these criteria.
